Methodology
In November 2017, Office for National Statistics suspended Dataset A08 (Labour market status of disabled people) for subsequent time periods due to an apparent discontinuity between Quarter 2 (April to June) 2017 and Quarter 3 (July to September) 2017. This article outlines the analysis of the discontinuity that has been completed prior to reinstating Dataset A08.

This report provides a comparison of core labour market outputs from the Labour Market Survey Statistical Test and the Labour Force Survey over the same period (November 2018 to January 2019). It highlights methodological differences and similarities and provides some commentary on the comparability of such figures, as well as recommendations for future research.

Methodology
A feasibility study into producing Consumer Prices Index including owner occupiers’ housing costs (CPIH)-consistent inflation rates for UK regions was published by Southampton University, supported by Office for National Statistics, in November 2017. Its recommendations on improving expenditure estimates at a regional level and how this may lead to more stable regional CPIH estimates are followed up in this second report.
