About these estimates

Cardiovascular disease is one of the largest causes of death in people aged under 75 in England. This indicator measures deaths from cardiovascular disease that are considered preventable through effective public health and primary prevention interventions.

The indicator can be used to monitor progress in reducing premature deaths from cardiovascular disease.

The data covers the period since March 2020 and includes the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The data source combines the City of London totals with Hackney, and the Isles of Scilly totals with Cornwall to prevent potential disclosure of individuals. Explore Local Statistics cannot visualise data for combined areas so please refer to the original data source for this data.
