The Office for National Statistics (ONS) is committed to making its website(s) accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
This accessibility statement applies to the ONS Shape Tomorrow Study which is currently in its beta phase.
Compliance status
The ONS Shape Tomorrow Study is not currently compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard. The non-compliance(s) and the exemptions are listed on this page.
Accessible content
We use simple language as much as possible. AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability or impairment.
Non-accessible content
As part of our development of the ONS Shape Tomorrow Study we are undertaking a comprehensive review of this website to ensure as many people as possible can use it. We know some parts of this website are not accessible and not compliant with accessibility regulations and you may not be able to:
- use most of the website with a screen reader, including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver
- navigate most of the website using just a keypad
- change colours and contrast levels
- zoom in up to 300% without problems
- navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
Once our accessibility testing of this website is complete, we will develop an implementation roadmap. We will continue to update this statement as we progress these plans.
How we are addressing accessibility issues
We are actively reviewing the accessibility of the Shape Tomorrow Study and exploring improvements to make the site easier to use for everyone. This includes assessing features including screen reader compatibility, keyboard navigation and visual adjustments. Through this assessment we will identify practical solutions, then implement those solutions during ongoing development of the survey. We will continue to update this statement as we progress these developments.
Preparation of this accessibility statement
This statement was prepared on 25 November 2025.
