    This dataset provides Census 2021 estimates that classify usual residents aged 5 years and over in England and Wales by the number of hours of unpaid care they provide. The estimates are as at Census Day, 21 March 2021. Age-standardisation allows for comparisons between populations that may contain proportions of different ages, represented as a percentage.

    Descriptive statistics and model estimates for the change in monthly employee pay and employee status attributable to having had bariatric surgery, in different time periods after surgery, compared with six months before surgery. Includes breakdowns by age group, sex, region, ethnic group and Index of Multiple Deprivation quintile group. April 2014 to March 2022.

  • Trade and productivity in Great Britain, evidence from firm-level microdata

    Released on: 18 August 2025 | Dataset

    Summary statistics of labour productivity, trade value, trade intensity, number of firms participating in trade, and firm exit, provided by trade status and different firm characteristics. Uses HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) trade in goods data linked to the Inter-Departmental Business Register (IDBR), the Annual Business Survey (ABS), International Trade in Services, and the Longitudinal Business Database. These are official statistics in development.

    Experimental statistics using pooled data from the Labour Force Survey 2007 – 2020, and Understanding Society Longitudinal Surveys 2009 – 2018, to understand the enabling and disabling factors that could contribute to an individual's likelihood of returning to work. These tables present modelled estimates of the differences between different groups’ likelihood of returning to work in the next three months or year long periods, over the time frame.

  • Local authority ageing statistics, household projections for older people: time-series

    Released on: 11 November 2020 | Dataset

    Projected indicators included are derived from the published 2018-based household projections for England and 2018-based household projections for Scotland for the years 2018 up to 2043. The indicators are the percentage of one-person households, in which the householder is aged 65 years and over and the percentage of one-person households, in which the householder is aged 85 years and over. This dataset has been produced by the Ageing Analysis Team for inclusion in the subnational ageing tool, which was published on July 20, 2020 (see link in Related datasets). The tool is interactive, and users can compare latest and projected measures of ageing for up to four different areas through selection on a map or from a drop-down menu. Note on data availability: England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland independently publish subnational household projections. Each country publishes a different set of age breakdowns and only England and Scotland provide the breakdowns required to calculate the indicators included above.
