Price quote data and item indices that underpin consumer price inflation statistics are now published, giving users unprecedented access to the detailed data that is used in the construction of the UK's inflation figures. With effect from January 2017 Consumer price inflation publication, these data are published on a monthly basis showing the latest month.
Designation can be broadly interpreted to mean that the statistics:
meet identified user needs
are well explained and readily accessible
are produced according to sound methods
are managed impartially and objectively in the public interest
Once statistics have been designated as National Statistics it is a statutory
requirement that the Code of Practice shall continue to be observed.
Pre-release access list
for Consumer price inflation, UK: November 2018
The phrase 'Pre-release Access' refers to the practice whereby official
in their final form, and any accompanying written commentary, are made
an eligible person in advance of their publication. The rules and
govern pre-release access are featured within the Pre-release Access to
Statistics Order 2008.
Besides ONS staff, the following persons are given pre-release access by

Following a decision made by the UK Statistics Authority, we are changing the publication dates for the prices and labour market releases. The new release dates and further explanation of the reasons for these changes are available in ‘Changes to ONS release timetable’, which we published on 13 February.
