COVID-19 Deaths registered in 2020
We hold the following analysis for deaths registered in England and Wales in 2020.
Deaths due to COVID-19, registered in England and Wales: 2020.
Table 2 provides deaths due to and involving COVID-19 by 5-year age group.
We use the term 'due to' when COVID-19 is the underlying cause of death and 'involving' when COVID-19 is either the underlying cause or a contributory mention on the death certificate.
COVID-19 Deaths registered in 2021
Deaths registered weekly in England and Wales, provisional provides provisional deaths involving COVID-19 registered in 2021.
The COVID-19 Weekly registrations tab provides COVID-19 deaths registered in England and Wales by 5-year age group. The latest data available is week ending 1 October 2021, and this publication is updated every Tuesday.
Monthly COVID-19 data by broad age bands is also available in the Monthly Mortality Analysis.
