Important notes and usage information
Integrated care board (ICB) changes – 1 April 2026
On 1 April 2026, changes were made to some integrated care board (ICB) footprints through a series of mergers and a boundary change. From the ‘Wave 23 edition of this dataset 21 May 2026’, ICB estimates have been calculated using the new ICB footprints. To support comparisons over time, a back series re‑estimating Waves 15 to 22 (inclusive) using the post‑1 April 2026 ICB footprints will be published on 18 June 2026.
Analysis-ready files
Following user feedback, Waves 1 to 12 have been transformed into analysis‑ready files (long format). These files are available under the relevant wave in the section titled ‘Supporting files you may find useful’.
