  • General Health in England and Wales: 2011 and comparison with 2001

We take a look at the general health of the population in England and Wales, examining the results at a national, regional and local level. Using a self-assessment of health can be a useful indicator of the population’s general wellbeing and health-related quality of life. Overall, 81.2% of people reported their general health as either “very good” or “good”, with England having a higher proportion of people in “very good” or “good” health than Wales.
