N.B. Number of mentions in Table 2 cannot be totalled to the number of Cannabis deaths in Table 1, because deaths can be assigned more than one contributory cause of death, or 'mention' on the death certificate. The figures in this table include deaths where codes from the ICD-10 chapters were mentioned anywhere on the death certificate, either as the underlying cause or as a contributory factor in the death.
