Data for the City of London has been excluded from the line chart and bar chart on this service due to its very high GDP figures and very low population, which distort the overall representation. Please refer to the accompanying dataset below or the data source for this information.

While GDP per head can be a useful way of comparing regions of different size, comparisons can be affected by commuting flows into or out of the region. Therefore, these figures should be used with caution. For such areas, it is advisable to refer to GVA per hour worked or GVA per job filled for a direct measure of economic performance.
