Summary of request
This data release provides a set of business dynamism statistics for the UK from 2001 to 2024 for presentation at the Economic Statistics Centre of Excellence (ESCoE) conference. The dataset includes three measures of business dynamism (rates) and shift-share decomposition of business dynamism.
Update
We have updated the data in the Business dynamism rates by age, size and industrial strategy sectors, UK, 2004 to 2024 request, published on 10 June 2026.
The update includes improvements to the definition of "firm location", expands the measures of business dynamism, and refines the classification of industrial strategy sectors.
These data should be treated as preliminary results, as we continue to improve and quality assure them.
