You asked

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I would like to request the following information from Census 2021.

For the Holborn and St Pancras UK Parliamentary constituency, please provide:

  • the 10 most commonly recorded main languages other than English, ranked from most to least common
  • the number of usual residents aged three and over recorded as speaking each of those languages as their main language
  • separately, the number of usual residents whose main language was recorded as Urdu, if Urdu does not appear in the top 10

Please provide the figures as counts rather than percentages.

If this information is already publicly available, I would be grateful if you could provide the relevant dataset or table and indicate where the figures for Holborn and St Pancras can be found.

We said

Thank you for your request.

While Census 2021 'language' data are available through published outputs, we do not produce a standard table that ranks the 10 most commonly recorded main languages for the Holborn and St Pancras UK Parliamentary Constituency, nor one that identifies the top 10 languages other than English in order of frequency.

However, the information you have requested is available to order from our commissioned tables service. Such services are subject to legal frameworks, resources and agreement of costs. If you would like to request this bespoke dataset, please contact census.customerservices@ons.gov.uk to discuss your enquiry further. Please note, there will be a charge for this work which would be subject to our charging policy.

As this information is reasonably accessible via another route, even if only accessible on payment, Section 21(2)(a) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 applies.
