Thank you for your Freedom of Information request about population and household data at the post code level.

The best data source would be the 2011 Census. This is available for England and Wales through the Nomis website: https://www.nomisweb.co.uk/

Information on age, sex, marital status, religion, ethnicity and household composition can be extracted for postcode areas, districts and sectors. For more help and guidance with Census data please contact Census Customer Services: Census.customer.services@ons.gov.uk

2011 Census data for Scotland and Northern Ireland would need to be obtained from National Records of Scotland (NRS) and Northern Ireland and Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) separately.

Income data is not available from the Census and is mainly available for households. Household disposable income and inequality in the UK is available on our website: https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/personalandhouseholdfinances/incomeandwealth/bulletins/householddisposableincomeandinequality/financialyearending2017

For more help and guidance with income data please contact: hie@ons.gov.uk

More recent data for your requested demographics are available but they would be for higher levels of geography, mainly ranging from national to Local Authority (LA) level statistics.

When accessing any of our files please read the 'notes, terms and conditions' contained within them.

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us on pop.info@ons.gov.uk.
