You asked

Do you hold figures for offences relating to the class-A drug methamphetamine?

If so, I would like to know the number of recorded offences relating to the drug - possession, possession with intent to supply etc - yearly from 2005 to 2018.

We said

Thank you for your request for the number of recorded offences related to drug methamphetamine.

We do not hold any of the information that you have requested.

We publish data on the number of offences related to trafficking and possession of controlled drugs in Appendix Table A4 of our ‘Crime in England and Wales, year ending September 2017’ annual bulletin, which is the latest data available. However, the type of controlled drug involved is not separately identifiable. Data for 2005 - 2017 are available from this table and data relating to the year ending March 2018 will be available in July 2018.

The Home Office are responsible for collating and publishing data on drug misuse offences, so may be able to provide more detailed information relating specifically to methamphetamine. They also publish an annual report on drug misuse statistics, based on data from the Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW), which provides information on trends in the use of methamphetamines. The Home Office can be contacted at; CrimeandPoliceStats@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk.

If you would like any information in the future, simply email us at CrimeStatistics@ons.gov.uk and we will endeavour to help. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
