The gross value of the payments made by the UK to the European Union (EU) in the financial year 2015/16 (March 2015 to April 2016) was £15,321 million (equivalent to £294.6 million per week).
Over the same period the UK received £4,067 million (equivalent to £78.2 million per week) in abatement from the EU.
The above figures are consistent with those reported in the Public Sector Finance statistical bulletin published on 23 May 2017.
