You asked

I would like to make a request under the Freedom of Information Act to see a copy of the survey data collected as part of the Labour Disputes Survey.

Please see: https://www.ons.gov.uk/employmentandlabourmarket/peopleinwork/workplacedisputesandworkingconditions/qmis/labourdisputessurveyqmi

I am interested in records of when industrial action took place (within the terms of reference of the survey) - and ideally the trade union(s) and the employer(s) involved. I am interested in the data you hold between the year 2010 and the present day.

Thank you for your request.

We are unable to release the information you require. Under s.39 of the Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007, personal information held by us (including information that identifies a body corporate), must not be disclosed. Releasing Labour Dispute Inquiry forms and details of individual employers or trade unions would be a breach of this legislation. Additionally, information relating to the time industrial action takes place could also lead to the identification of individual businesses or trade unions.

Furthermore, the release of individual information or returns is prohibited in accordance with s.9 of the Statistics of Trade Act 1947.

Therefore, because the release of the information you have requested is prohibited by law, s.44 of the Freedom of Information Act 2007 applies.
