International migrants surveyed in Coventry

You asked

I wish to obtain, any information from the Labour Force Survey Annual Population Survey about the numbers of international migrants into Coventry and emigrants out of coventry. The Recent IPPR study of international migration cited data from the APS.(see this page http://www.ippr.org/publications/destination-education) I do not have a specification of the survey so I cannot specify which fields or data quantities I would like.

If the data is available, I would like to know summary data, broken down by years, for international migrants surveyed in Coventry

  1. How long they have been in the uk? - less than 1 yr, 1 yr, 2yrs, 3 yrs etc. – a tally for the year
  2. How long they have been in Coventry? ? less than 1 yr, 1 yr, 2yrs, 3 yrs etc. – a tally for the year for Coventry
  3. Are they employed, a student, unemployed, not seeking work, a minor? – tallied numbers
  4. Where are they from (the top 20 origins) – or more simply broken down by EU and Non EU (if possible, what is their domicile and what is their nationality)
  5. Do they intend to stay in the UK?
  6. Do they intend to stay in Coventry?
  7. How old are they (reported by 5 year age ranges ,)
  8. I would like the series from 2000 to the present if available.
  9. Sufficient information to extrapolate to total numbers in Coventry. – how many were surveyed, how many do we estimate there are in total in Coventry.
  10. I would be interested in seeing the raw survey figures as well, so I can estimate the likely margins of error (95% confidence interval)

Please advise on what information, of this sort, might be available from the LFS APS.

Can you also please supply me with a copy of the APS survey itself, so I can better understand what data might be available.

Only some of the data you are looking for will be obtainable from the LFS/APS. Points 2, 5, and 6 of your request are not contained in the LFS/APS; and against point 8, the APS begin only in 2004.
