I am requesting current data on the presence of Czech citizens/nationals in the following regions:
- North West
- North East
- Yorkshire and The Humber
- Northern Ireland
- Scotland
It would be appreciated to add data on the age of the citizens/nationals.

Census 2021 is currently our best estimate of the population of England and Wales by country of birth. The census does not collect nationality, so passports held is used as a proxy. While this source provides the best picture of society at a moment in time, we acknowledge that there is a need for more timely and frequent statistics at a consistent level of quality. Provisional estimates for the year ending June 2022, produced by rolling forward Census 2021 estimates and accounting for population change, were published in International migration research, progress update: November 2022.
The release of multivariate data in March 2023 included both flexible datasets where you can choose and change the area type, coverage and variables for Census 2021 data, and custom datasets that you make yourself. The create a custom dataset enables users to find and download multiple combinations of data they are most interested in. Using this service, we have been able to produce an output showing population of people with a Czech passport in the English Regions you have requested. Please see the associated download for this information.
Unfortunately, the combination of variables you require is not available via the create a custom dataset due to disclosure control supressions. However, we do offer a bespoke analysis service, where we can explore building analysis to your specifications. We would need to discuss and agree on aggregate age groupings to ensure that no individuals can be identified from the output. Such services are subject to disclosure controls, legal frameworks, and costs in line with our charging policy. We are responsible for the census in England and Wales. Scotland and Northern Ireland conduct their own censuses. Equivalent data can be obtained from:
