  • Crime in England and Wales: Uncapped CSEW tables

    Trends in uncapped estimates from the Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW) by offence type. These estimates have been published for methodological purposes only. They will be subject to considerable volatility from year to year and are not the main measure of incident estimates from the CSEW. The main measure of incident estimates from the CSEW are capped at the 98th percentile and are available in Crime in England and Wales: Appendix tables.

    Unweighted estimates of a panel of 999 businesses that responded to every survey wave (Wave 13 to Wave 27), from the voluntary fortnightly business survey (BICS), which captures businesses responses on how their turnover, trade and business resilience have been affected in the two-week reference period. This data relates to the period 24 August 2020 to 4 April 2021.

  • Local authority ageing statistics, population projections for older people: time-series

    Released on: 18 August 2020 | Dataset

    Projected indicators included are derived from the published 2018-based subnational population projections for England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland up to the year 2043. The indicators are the projected percentage of the population aged 65 years and over, 85 years and over, 0 to 15 years, 16 to 64 years, 16 years to State Pension age, State Pension age and over, median age and the Old Age Dependency Ratio (the number of people of State Pension age per 1000 of those aged 16 years to below State Pension age). This dataset has been produced by the Ageing Analysis Team for inclusion in the subnational ageing tool, which was published on July 20, 2020 (see link in Related datasets). The tool is interactive, and users can compare latest and projected measures of ageing for up to four different areas through selection on a map or from a drop-down menu. Note on data sources: England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland independently publish subnational population projections and the data available here are a compilation of these datasets. The ONS publish national level data for the UK, England, Wales and England & Wales, which has been included. National level data for Scotland and Northern Ireland have been taken from their subnational population projections datasets.

    Indicators included have been derived from the published 2019 mid-year population estimates for the UK, England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. These are the number of persons and percentage of the population aged 65 years and over, 85 years and over, 0 to 15 years, 16 to 64 years, 16 years to State Pension age, State Pension age and over, median age and the Old Age Dependency Ratio (the number of people of State Pension age per 1000 of those aged 16 years to below State Pension age).     Ad hoc tables to accompany our article on impacts of energy price rises on businesses. These weighted tables are a series of crosstables between the Business Insights and Conditions Survey (BICS) question "Has your business been affected by recent increases in energy prices?" and the question specified at the top of each data tab. These results were not published in the weighted BICS Wave 65-67 results.

    The indicators and analysis presented in this article are based on selected responses over time from the new voluntary fortnightly business survey, which captures businesses responses on how their turnover, workforce, prices, trade and business resilience have been affected in the two week reference period. This data relates to the period 23 March 2020 to 17 May 2020 (Wave 2 to Wave 5).

    We have assessed the 114 global SDG indicators reported on our National Reporting Platform to see whether data are available for the six of the eight disaggregations specified by the United Nations. The remaining disaggregations are for geography (which we have reported separately) and race - which has not been reported as data are not regularly collected in the UK, but further assessment is required before we can report on this characteristic.

  • Attitudes towards COVID-19 among passengers arriving into the UK

    Monthly figures on the attitudes of UK and overseas residents arriving in and departing from the UK towards social distancing, mask wearing, and coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions and the proportion who had been vaccinated, using unweighted results from the International Passenger Survey for the period covering February 2021 to March 2022 and the Civil Aviation Authority’s Departing Passengers Survey for the period covering June 2021 to December 2021 (Experimental Statistics).

  • ESA 2010 GNI for the UK mapped to ESA 1995

    Analysis detailing how the ESA 2010 Gross National Income data published on 30th September 2016 can be broken down by type of revision to get back to the ESA 1995 Gross National Income figures of Blue Book 2014. This analysis was updated on 28 October 2016 to include the Total Blue Book 2016 ESA 95 based GNI impacting revisions figure for 2015 (Cell H14). This has not impacted on any other figures in the table and has simply been added for completeness.
