This article is being produced as part of the reporting on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) global indicators. It analyses data to report on a global indicator under Goal 16 which looks at the proportion of people on remand in custody. In keeping with the UN agenda of leaving no one behind, it looks at characteristics such as sex, age, ethnicity and reports on children and young people.
