The Economic Review theme for October 2019 will cover National Accounts and GDP. The following articles (which are still being drafted) will be included:

  1. The Decoupling of Economic Growth from Carbon Emissions: UK Evidence – will include analysis exploring the relationship between the UK’s economic growth and production of carbon emissions.

  2. Comparing Office for National Statistics UK economic output indicator data with IHS Markit/CIPS surveys - This article investigates the coherence of Monthly Business Survey (MBS) data the corresponding Purchasing Managers Indices (PMIs) from IHS Markit and the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS)

  3. National Accounts transformation – presenting what progress has been made this year and the pathway to transforming the measurement of National Accounts.

  4. Regional GDP – update on release of new regional monthly GDP figures along with analysis on this.
