I would be grateful if you could provide the following data: population statistics by age group for max. 10-year groups (but single age preferable) from 1900 to the present.

We publish population estimates for the UK; under the Mid-2001 to mid-2018 detailed time-series you will find an Excel file called 'UK population estimates, 1838 to 2018. In the downloadable file you will find:

UK 5-year age groups mid-1953 to mid-1970 (Table 2)
GB single year of age mid-1961 to mid-2018 (Table 6)
GB 5-year age groups mid-1937 to mid-1960 (Table 5)
England & Wales single year of age mid-1961 to mid-2018 (Table 9)
England & Wales 5-year age groups mid-1911 to mid-1960 (Table 8)
England single year of age mid-1971 to mid-2018 (Table 11)
Wales single year of age mid-1981 to mid-2018 (Table 13)
Scotland single year of age mid-1961 to mid-2018 (Table 16)
Scotland 5-year age groups mid-1937 to mid-1960 (Table 15)
Northern Ireland single year of age mid-1971 to mid-2018 (Table 19)
Northern Ireland 5-year age groups mid-1953 to mid-1970 (Table 18)
These tables contain the data that go furthest back for the ages and age groups you have requested.
