Corrections

Due to a processing error, a minor correction has been made to Table 3.05: Average spending in £ per visit and per day by region of visit and purpose of visit and Table 3.12: Average spending in £ per visit abroad and per day by main country visited. This correction was made for years 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023.

We have corrected an error in the 2019 to 2023 edition and 2023 edition of the ‘Travel trends estimates: UK residents’ visits abroad’ dataset. The incorrect datasets were supplied in October 2024. This occurred due to human error, where an updated version of the 2023 edition incorrectly replaced the previous 2019 to 2023 dataset. This has now been corrected. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

We have corrected an error in the column titles of Table 5.11: Visits abroad by purpose of visit, nationality and main country visited 2023. For ‘Holiday - All’, ‘Holiday - Inclusive Tour’, ‘Business’, ‘Visiting Friends and Relatives’, ‘Miscellaneous’ and ‘All Purposes’ some columns were incorrectly labelled. These have been corrected to ‘Nationality UK’ and ‘Nationality of Country Visited’.

There is an error affecting the way we assign destination airport information for air passengers in Travel trends estimates: UK residents’ visits abroad 2024 edition of the dataset.
