22 April 2022

We have corrected an error in this dataset within Table 3: Financial situation and borrowing. The previous version contained errors in the confidence intervals associated with some of the estimates for grouped responses in rows 40 and 41 of this table (“very easy or easy” and “very difficult or difficult”). This has now been corrected and happened due to human error. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

This dataset has been superseded by the Public opinions and social trends, Great Britain: household finances dataset. This will be the new title and location of the dataset presenting estimates of people’s experiences of changes in their cost of living and household finances, from the Opinions and Lifestyle Survey from 30 March to 10 April 2022 onwards

About this Dataset

The way in which people report the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has affected their household finances in the past seven days, if people report their costs of living has changed in the last month and why, and people’s financial situation in the last month – indicators from the Opinions and Lifestyle Survey (OPN).
