An error has been detected in the titles and notes of the Life Tables, principal projection, England and Wales dataset. The titles showing the geography and years which the data covered were incorrect. The figures in the life tables themselves have not been changed.

We have corrected an error in the notes of the “Life tables, principal projection, UK” dataset and the “Life tables, principal projection, England and Wales” dataset. The error occurred on the cover sheet, information tab, and data tab, and incorrectly described the date ranges for historical mortality rates used to calculate the life tables. The error occurred when the information was updated for the latest round of national population projections. We apologise for this error.
