The Volume Index of Capital Services (VICS) are official statistics in development.
Users are advised to refer to the May 2025 VICS publication as the most recent release, which remains the most robust and reliable version available.
The VICS dataset released on 7 November 2025 contained data issues. This included double counting within the gross fixed capital formation input data, which has now been corrected. Data issues mainly affecting the historical time series are undergoing a full review. To maintain our commitment to producing high quality, reliable and accurate statistics, the VICS data are further undergoing a full methodological review.
Publication dates will be confirmed once the review is complete.
We appreciate users’ understanding and will provide further updates as soon as they are available. We apologise for these ongoing issues.

In November 2025 we identified an issue affecting Other Buildings and Structures and its subproducts, which in-turn affect the market sector aggregate totals. Our quality assurance so far has identified a linking issue with our historical data for periods before 1996. We are continuing to work on resolving the issue and will provide an update once our quality assurance and impact analysis is complete. Users should continue to interpret these estimates with caution while the release remains under an ongoing review. Previous releases of VICS remain unaffected.
