Navigating Numbers is part of our data education programme for students aged 16 years and over, in further education or sixth form. We’ve designed a series of toolkits that help to make students more aware of what we do at the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

You can now sign up for updates about the release of our latest Navigating Numbers resources.

Navigating Numbers: Exploring Economics

This easy-to-use toolkit will focus on the importance of economic statistics, allowing your students to work confidently with real-world ONS data.

Linked to the curriculum, these new materials are designed to slot straight into your teaching for lessons in Business Studies, Geography and Economics. We’ve also designed them so that they can be adapted for use in other subjects.

Using these resources, you can support your students as they analyse, question and apply data to practical issues, helping them develop important critical thinking skills.

Navigating Numbers: Statistics in the classroom

Statistics in the classroom is our Continuing Professional Development (CPD) resource for teachers that provides practical support on using official statistics in a classroom setting.

This CPD resource will help to boost your own and your students’ confidence with data, allowing you to bring complex concepts to life with ease.
