In reference to the following ONS dataset from the Wealth & Assets Survey.
I would like to know:
A breakdown of the number of formal financial assets held by men and women. For example, the number of men who hold UK shares and the number of women who hold UK shares; etc
A breakdown of the value of formal financial assets held by men and women. For example, the value of UK shares held by men and the value of UKs shares held by women; etc
Please provide the data for each of the last five years with a year-end 31st December, or whichever year-end is most convenient. If you cannot provide data for each of the last five years, then please provide data for each of the last three years. If that is not possible, then please provide data for each of the most recent two years.
We said
The Wealth and Assets Survey (WAS) samples around 20,000 households in Great Britain over a 2-year period with the latest data available referring to July 2014 to June 2016. We therefore cannot provide annual data as requested but have provided the information requested for each of the last three survey periods.
The Wealth and Assets Survey team are available at Wealth.and.Assets.Survey@ons.gov.uk should further information be required.
