You asked

Request for UK alcohol addiction pre and post COVID-19 pandemic statistics.

Consider alcohol dependency as a person who has developed a physical dependency on alcohol but has not yet detoxed from the substance.

Alcoholic as a person who has detoxed from alcohol and started to consume alcohol post detox at least once extending to several detoxes and above.

Alcoholism when a person's addiction to alcohol is so advanced that it is all consuming and completely destructive, their life is acquiring and consuming alcohol and their condition is distinct from that of an alcoholic.

How many new cases of identified alcohol addiction have been confirmed since the COVID-19 pandemic in the UK? By alcohol addiction I mean to say people who have become physically dependant on alcohol, have then detoxed from alcohol and begun to consume alcohol again.

How has this affected our understanding of the extent of alcohol misuse and abuse amongst people who considered themselves to be casual drinkers of alcohol?

What is the estimated increase in cases of alcohol dependency post COVID-19 lockdown ?

How many alcohol dependants detoxed unexpectedly at home "cold turkey" ?

What are the effects of unexpected, unplanned and unsupervised or assisted home alcohol detoxifications on the human physiology and how could this effect their addiction in the long-term?

How will this effect drug and alcohol services as they currently are?

How will this affect productivity in areas of employment?

What are the risks and in what areas of employment are those risks elevated to unacceptable levels?

What can be done now to slow or prevent a rapid deterioration in standard's across all sector's?

Where should investment be made today for a better tomorrow?

What is the demographic that should be targeted for training employment and investment?
