Thank you for your Freedom of Information request.
While we publish population estimates by age and sex (the latest being mid-2018), unfortunately we do not hold information about the number of people with ageing parents. We may be able to create the information your require, or something similar, however the data does not cover the age of the person receiving the care, and it may not cover the UK as a whole or carers aged 52+. This bespoke analysis service would fall outside the Freedom of Information regime, and would be subject to legal frameworks, disclosure controls, resources and agreement of costs where appropriate. If this is an option you would like to explore, please contact us on pop.info@ons.gov.uk. You can find information on our charging policy here.
