You asked
Please provide the following aggregated data, if held:
1. The number of people emigrating from the UK annually, broken down by:
- Age group
- Income band (if available)
- Employment status (if available)
2. Any available statistics on average or median income levels for UK residents by age group and/or demographic category.
3. Any available statistics on average or median tax paid (income tax, NICs) by income band or demographic group.
This information will be used to estimate, at an aggregate level, the potential tax contributions associated with emigrant populations.
Please provide copies of any existing analyses, reports, or internal documents held by your organisation that relate to:
1. The tax contributions of individuals prior to leaving the UK for long-term residence abroad and
2. Any analysis comparing tax contributions of individuals who emigrate with those who remain resident in the UK
This request relates to individuals who have left the UK for long-term migration, including (but not limited to) those identified in ONS migration estimates (e.g. the approximately 642,000 emigrants in the year ending December 2025).

Unfortunately we do not hold any information on the income or tax of migrants.
You may be interested in our Effects of taxes and Benefits data tables which provides statistics on income levels for UK residents. Please note, all values are average for all UK households regardless of if they pay taxes or not.
