You asked

Could I please make a freedom of information request for the following:

Up-to-date stop and search figures by ethnicity and the percentage of which result in a "positive outcome" for the police in England & Wales.

"Positive outcome" is defined by the police as some form of further action after stop and search.

Could I have the figures for 2018-2020?

Thank you for your enquiry regarding stop and search statistics. Unfortunately, we do not hold the information relating to your request.

We publish statistics taken from the Crime Survey for England and Wales and crimes recorded by the police. The statistics we publish focus on the victims of crime rather than the perpetrators.

The latest stop and search statistics can be found in the Home Office publication titled 'Police Powers and Procedures, England and Wales year ending 31 March 2019':

https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/police-powers-and-procedures-england-and-wales-year-ending-31-march-2019

With regard to the data tables associated with this release, Table SS.17 provides the proportion of stop and searches in England and Wales that resulted in an arrest by self-defined ethnicity.

These data are published by the Home Office and any further queries should be directed to them. They can be contacted at the following email address: CrimeandPoliceStats@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk.

If you would like any crime related information in the future, please feel free to email CrimeStatistics@ons.gov.uk and we will endeavour to help.
