You asked
Would it be possible to obtain statistics of violent crimes in the UK broken down by ethnicity? In particular, crimes relating to sexual violence?
We said
Thank you for your enquiry.
The Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW) is a victimisation survey which asks respondents about their experiences of crime. Statistics produced are for England and Wales only. For crime statistics for Scotland and Northern Ireland, you would need to contact Scottish Government and the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency directly.
Our nature of violent crime: appendix tables focus on the prevalence of violent crime and the characteristics of victims. Table 1 of this dataset provides a breakdown of the prevalence of violence with and without injury by personal characteristics, including ethnicity.
You may also find our Sexual offences prevalence and victim characteristics dataset useful. Table 4 of this dataset provides a breakdown of the prevalence of sexual offences by personal characteristics, including ethnicity.
