You asked

I would like to request the statistics for motorcyclists killed or seriously injured for the past 5 years.

And I would also like to add statistics for accidents caused by motorcyclists if you have them.

Thank you for your request.

You have made a Freedom of Information Request asking for ‘the statistics for motorcyclists killed or seriously injured for the past 5 years' and ‘statistics for accidents caused by motorcyclists’.

The statistics for motorcyclists killed in transport accidents 2011 to 2014 can be found on our website at the following link (table 5): https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/birthsdeathsandmarriages/deaths/datasets/deathsregisteredinenglandandwalesseriesdrreferencetables

For 2015, these statistics are available through our explorable data set: https://www.nomisweb.co.uk/query/select/getdatasetbytheme.asp?theme=73

The number of deaths provided have been coded for cause of death using the International Classification of Diseases, Tenth revision (ICD-10), where the cause of death was coded to V20 to V29, a motorcycle rider injured in transport accident.

Total number of motorcyclists killed in transport accidents 2011 to 2015, England and Wales

2011: 317
2012: 278

Other special extracts and tabulations of deaths data for England and Wales are available (subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreement of costs, where appropriate). You do not need to make a Freedom of Information request and can contact the team directly at: vsob@ons.gov.uk
