Thank you for your request regarding the most up to date statistics for the Isles of Scilly. Our mid-2017 estimates of the population for the UK, England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland hold the latest available data for the Isles of Scilly population by age and sex. These are to be found within our MYE2, MYE2 – M, and MYE2 – F tables on row 341. As an aside, you may also be interested in table MYE3, which includes births, death and migration components for the Isles of Scilly.

Data to 2016 on the proportions of privately owned and social housing stock can be found in tables 9b and 12b respectively of the housing summary measures data.

Regarding the number of businesses, table 1 of our UK business: activity, size and location spreadsheet presents data for 2018 on the number of VAT and/or PAYE based enterprises by broad industry group for the Isles of Scilly (row 353). Table 10 provides data on the number of workers and table 11 by turnover.

The latest data for car availability can be found in the 2011 Census data within the Local Area Report for the Isles of Scilly on the NOMIS website. Regarding other forms of transport, there is information on the method of travel to work for those aged 16 to 74 years of age, again from the 2011 Census data. Please use the dropdown menu on the left hand side to choose the Isles of Scilly as an area and arrange rows and columns using the dropdown menus below that (as you have to use urban/rural as a variable but this doesn’t affect your data). You may find more up to date or detailed statistics on the Department for Transport website.
