Thank you for your enquiry requesting data regarding children who have suffered proven sexual abuse, serious injury/assault and death whilst on access visits to their father.

Unfortunately, we are not able to fulfil your full request for data.

Our main sources of data on crime statistics are the Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW) and police recorded crime. The CSEW is a victimisation survey asking households about their experience of crime in the previous 12 months.

While we do collect data on children who have suffered proven sexual abuse and/or physical abuse in our Child abuse in England and Wales: March 2020 publication, the data does not include whether children who suffered abused whilst on access visits to their father. We also do not hold data on the number of children having unsupervised access with their fathers. Therefore, we cannot fulfil this part of your request.

Ofsted publish data on children's homes and other social care providers, fostering, inspections of local authority children's services, and serious incident notifications from local authority children's services. You may wish to contact Ofsted (who can be reached at: socialcaredata@ofsted.gov.uk); they may be able to help you.

If you would like any further assistance, please email us at CrimeStatistics@ons.gov.uk and we will endeavour to help.
