I would like to know how many people there were on the sex offender register in England for 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014 and 2013. Please could I have the data broken down into each year for the country at first and then broken further down into counties and then into districts.

I would also like to know how many of the sex offenders were registered for crimes involving children in England for 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014 and 2013. Please could I have the data broken down into each year for the country at first and then broken further down into counties and then into districts.

Thank you for your enquiry.

Unfortunately we do not hold the information you have requested.

We publish statistics taken from the Crime Survey for England and Wales and crimes recorded by the police. We do not hold statistics relating to registered sex offenders or requests made under Sarah’s Law.

The Home Office Public Protection Unit may be able to assist with figures at the national level, although if you require information broken down locally then you would need to contact police forces directly.

The Home Office Public Protection Unit can be contacted at SexOffenderManagement@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

If you have any further questions, please email us at CrimeStatistics@ons.gov.uk and we will endeavour to help.
