We said

Thank you for your request regarding vehicle clocking offences.

Unfortunately, we do not hold the information that you have requested.

The ONS Centre for Crime and Justice publishes crime-related statistics from two main sources – the Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW) and crime recorded by the police sent to us by the Home Office. The CSEW does not gather specific data on vehicle clocking. The data sent to us from the Home Office is aggregate data which we prepare for final publication. Vehicle clocking is not included in this aggregate data as its own category. As such we do not hold figures specific to vehicle clocking. The Home Office may have more information about reports or investigations into vehicle clocking and can be contacted at CrimeandPoliceStats@homeoffice.gov.uk.

Both these sources focus on crime victimisation, and therefore do not cover data on whether cases led to court action or prosecution. Information on court proceedings and prosecutions is held by the Ministry of Justice who can be contacted at ESD@justice.gov.uk .

The ONS crime statistics team does not share any additional information with https://hpicheck.com/, https://totalcarcheck.co.uk/ or https://www.rapidcarcheck.co.uk/ beyond our publicly available scheduled releases.

If you have any further questions please email us at crimestatistics@ons.gov.uk and we will endeavour to help.
