I am working with Dr. Gustaf Edgren, an epidemiologist from the Karolinska Institutet and Dr. Tan Min-Han, from the National Cancer Centre Singapore. We are undertaking a project to study worldwide trends in tongue cancer.
I have looked at the data available on your site, and wish to request for more information:
The "Cancer Statistics Registrations" yearly documents on your website were very helpful and contain almost all the information we need. However, the mortality data is described by "sex and region of residence" instead of "sex and age". Could we request for mortality data on tongue cancer by age and sex? Data from the earliest year available (1980 if available) till 2010 will be very much appreciated
The "Cancer Statistics Registrations" yearly documents on your website seem to only date back till 1992. Is data before 1992 available (from 1980 if available)? We would need data on the number of new cases of tongue cancer diagnosed yearly by age and sex, as well as mortality data on tongue cancer by age and sex (as mentioned above)

We have provided the requested statistics in the attached Excel file in two tables. Table 1 comprises Registrations of newly diagnosed cases of tongue cancer by sex and by 5-year age group, England, 1980-2010. Please note that as the cancer database is dynamic and is constantly updated, the figures presented are the latest and may differ slightly from those published.
Table 2 comprises Registrations of deaths from tongue cancer by sex and by 5-year age group, England, 1980-2010.
