Please provide statistics on the average retail basket value in the UK broken down by gender, age splits and regions for 2008-2018. If there is no single "retail" value, I would appreciate any kind of breakdown by industry.

Thank you for your request for statistics on regional consumer expenditure by demographic groups.
Every year, we update and review the items included in the Consumer Price Inflation basket of goods and services with the latest edition being published on 11 March 2019. The article explains the decisions that we make, based on overall item expenditure, when choosing representative items for inclusion in the basket of goods and services. Unfortunately, we do not hold to low-level, micro expenditure data.
The only expenditure data we publish are UK Consumer trends (based on household final consumption expenditure, HHFCE) and spending patterns of UK households (from the Living Costs and Food Survey). The former is used to construct the expenditure weights for consumer price inflation. For both of these products, we publish an extensive time series however the data are not collected to the level that you have requested.
