You asked

I understand that you have a complete dataset of positive COVID-19 PCR tests that cannot be released as it may identify individuals.

Accordingly, I would like aggregate data from this dataset (so there is no risk of individual identification).

The data I require is as follows (preferably in digital format) - Testing Centre, Month, PCR Cycle Count, Total Number of Positive COVID-19 cases.

Thank you for your request.

The COVID-19 Infection Survey is a representative household survey which estimates the number of people testing positive for COVID-19. Our statistics refer to infections reported in the community, by which we mean private households. These figures exclude infections reported in hospitals, care homes or other institutional settings. Therefore, we do not hold a complete dataset of positive COVID-19 PCR tests, only positive tests from the sample in our survey.

You can find our latest dataset of positive COVID-19 PCR tests from our sample accompanying our latest bulletin. In this dataset you can find:

  • The official reported estimates of percentage testing positive in England on tab 1a, Wales on tab 3a, Northern Ireland on tab 4a, and Scotland on tab 5a.
  • The overall number of COVID-19 infections by non-overlapping 14 day periods (weighted), for England on tab 1d, Wales on tab 3d, Northern Ireland on tab 4d and Scotland on tab 5d. We do not provide a breakdown by month.
  • Ct values on tab 6a.

All of our swabs are sent to the Lighthouse Laboratories in Glasgow for testing.

Please note these are estimates from our survey. Public Health England are responsible for all PCR testing and can be contacted via email at wn_coronavirus@phe.gov.uk.

You can find the total number of confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 on the Government COVID-19 dashboard, which can be found here.
