Please supply how many people speak a language other than English in England and Wales, but not excluding Welsh in Wales from the census.

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request regarding the number of people in England and Wales who speak a language other than English in the last census.
The latest census figures available are from the 2011 Census. Please see table QS204EW Main language -detailed held on the Nomis website. Further requests for census data or help with using the Nomis website should be sent direct to Census Customer Services.
Data from Census 2021 will start to become available from late spring 2022. You can keep up to date about census data releases by checking this page.
