Thank you for your request.

The official government figures for the number of people vaccinated can be found on the UK Coronavirus Dashboard.

We run the COVID-19 Infection Survey (CIS), a representative household survey which tracks COVID-19 infection and immunity in the community. In this instance, community refers to private residential households and excludes institutional settings such as hospitals and care homes. Participants are swabbed in order to measure the number of people testing positive for COVID-19, and a sample of these participants will have their blood tested for antibodies to COVID-19. We also ask participants whether they have been vaccinated.

While we do not publish the number of people who have not received the vaccine, we do publish estimates from our survey on the proportion of people who have received at least one dose of a vaccine against SARS-CoV-2, as well as those who have been fully vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2.

In the week ending 16 April 2021, our estimated percentage of adults who reported they have received at least one dose of a coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine continued to increase, with 59.8% to 70.6% of people across the UK having received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

In the dataset accompanying our latest article, you can find modelled percentage of adults vaccinated for SARS-CoV-2 in:

  • England on tab 1e
  • Wales on tab 2d
  • Northern Ireland on tab 3d
  • Scotland on tab 4d

These modelled estimates are produced for analysis purposes and do not replace the official government figures on vaccines, which are a more precise count of total vaccines issued. While we would expect the overall trend of our estimated number of people who have received vaccines to increase, it is possible that in some weeks, the estimate may remain the same or decrease as a result of sampling variability (for example, we may have a lower number of participants recording a vaccination in the latest week compared with an earlier week).
