Thank you for your enquiry.

Unfortunately, we would be unable to provide you with figures for Pernicious Anaemia specifically. In order to fulfil this request, we would need use a high level of statistical skill and judgement in order to create bespoke analysis. Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Public Authorities are not obligated to create information in order to respond to requests. We therefore consider this to be information not held.

However, using our NOMIS webservice, we can provide data for deaths from anaemia from 2013-2018. The ICD10 code for anaemia is D64.9. Please note, the IDC-10 code D64.9 includes data for pernicious anaemia, but will also include data for other types of anaemia as well. Data for 2019 will be available on the NOMIS website once it has been finalised, in August/September 2020. Data for 2020 will be available in 2021.

We have extracted the data for ICD10 code D64.9 alongside 'All cause mortality' for comparison in the following table. Further disaggregation of this data is available using the NOMIS webservice, which will allow you to filter by age bands, sex and at a lower geography level.
