I've looked on the website but have been unable to find the following:
Number of children of parents, by social background (defined using parents’ occupational group based on the Office for National Statistics (ONS) NS-SEC (National Statistics Socio-economic Classification) framework).
I presume this is possible to provide as the government publishes data on live births as part of social mobility data (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/social-mobility-indicators/social-mobility-indicators)
I would ideally like the data to be granular as possible, so:
breaking down number of children in as much detail as possible
break NS-SEC groups fully (as a minimum 1-4 and 5-8)

Thank you for your query regarding birth data.
Birth data by NS-SEC of the parents is currently available in Further Parental Characteristics
Table 5 provides live births by NS-SEC and number of previous children.
From 2015 this data will be available within Births by Parents Characteristics and 2014 data will be published on 16 November 2015.
Other special extracts and tabulations of births data for England and Wales are available (subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreement of costs, where appropriate). You do not need to make a Freedom of Information request and can contact the team directly at: vsob@ons.gov.uk.
