Could you provide me with details for the following;
The number of buy to let investment properties in the UK from 2000 - 2015.
The number of buy to let investment properties in the Scotland from 2000 - 2015.
The number of buy to let investment properties in the Northern Ireland from 2000 - 2015.
The number of buy to let investment properties in the Wales from 2000 - 2015.
If these dates are not available dates prior to 2015 or 2000 would still be welcomed.

We do not produce statistics on the number of buy to let properties. However, the Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML) does report some statistics on the number of buy to let mortgage completions in the UK. See the data in the first Excel workbook you can download from the following CML page:

In addition, the Land Registry publishes data on residential property transactions in England and Wales which were purchased with a buy to let mortgage. These data come from the Land Registry's Additional Price Paid Data which include property transactions with buy to let mortgages as well as other types of property transactions such as those not a market value, Right-to-Buy, and possession orders. However, it is not possible to distinguish between sales with buy to let mortgages and other types of sales in the Additional Price Paid Data. Note that both these data sources provide information on properties bought with mortgages, and therefore they do not include buy to let properties which were bought outright.
