You asked

I would like to know:

1) Organised by race (White, Black, Asian, Other, if possible please); the total amount of searches per group conducted, as well as data showing those figures per 1,000 of each groups representative population. Please provide this from across England and Wales and from 2013/2014-2017.

2) Again organised by race, the amount of arrests (and prosecutions if possible) resulting from those searches, again in relation to each demographic population.

Thank you for your enquiry regarding stop and search statistics. Unfortunately we do not hold the information relating to your request.

We publish statistics taken from the Crime Survey for England and Wales and crimes recorded by the police. The statistics we publish focus on the victims of crime rather than the perpetrators.

Stop and search statistics can be found in the Home Office publication titled 'Police Powers and Procedures England and Wales year ending 31 March 2017':

https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/police-powers-and-procedures-england-and-wales-year-ending-31-march-2017

With regard to the data tables associated with this release, Table SS.16 provides the proportion of stops and searches in England and Wales by self-defined ethnicity, and Table SS.17 presents the same ethnic breakdown but relating to the proportion of stops and searches resulting in arrests. Both tables present data for the years 2015/16 and 2016/17.

Previous releases of this publication present figures for 2013/14 and 2014/15:

These data are published by the Home Office and any further queries should be directed to them. They can be contacted at the following email address: CrimeandPoliceStats@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk.

If you would like crime related information in the future, you can simply email CrimeStatistics@ons.gov.uk and we will endeavour to help.
