Number of adoptions occurring between 2007 and 2017

I am writing to request information on the number of adoption breakdowns (where the adopted child or children have left the adoptive family) that have occurred in England between 2007 and 2017. The data that I require would include the following:

  • The number of adoptions that have broken down, both pre- and post-Adoption Order

  • The name of the local authority where the adopters resided at the time of the breakdown

  • The length of time that the adopted children had been living with their adoptive families before they left following the breakdown
