You asked
I am writing to ask if you can give me the figures for murderers released by the British Parole Board who have then gone on to kill yet again.
If you can let me know the figures for say the last twenty five years, that will be acceptable.
We said
Thank you for your request.
We publish a release called Homicide in England and Wales, which analyses aggregated data from the Home Office Homicide Index. Table 30 in the accompanying appendix tables contains the number of suspects convicted of homicide who have a previous homicide conviction for the year ending March 2015 to year ending March 2025.
We do not hold any additional information about these data as we receive these data from the Home Office. If you have any further questions, you can contact them directly. They can be contacted via email at CrimeandPoliceStats@homeoffice.gov.uk.
You could also contact the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) as they are primarily responsible for collating data on offenders and may be able to assist you further. They produce information about the Parole board jointly with HM Prison Service. They can be contacted at CJS_Statistics@justice.gov.uk.
