Can you please answer the following questions regarding mileage reimbursement spend for ONS employees

  1. what was the total spend on reimbursing staff for mileage for 2013-2014

  2. total miles travelled

  3. reimbursement rate

We said

  1. the Authority has reimbursed £301,124.41 for office staff mileage as well as £2,337,589.29 paid to the field interviewers. However, this excludes costs paid for via GPC cards

  2. road travel for 2013 to 2014 is 9,974,118 kilometers and this figure will be included in the 2013 to 2014 Accounts

  3. the Authority pays milage at either 0.27p per mile (public transport rate) or 0.40p per mile (standard rate) depending on the time of travel. The authority also utilses hire cars and will reimburse staff for the fuel utilsed per journey - this mileage is included in the above figure. Total kilometers travelled was 9,974,118 and this will be reported in the Annual Accounts
